Weipeng Shi

Weiping Shi received his B.S. and M.S. from Xian Jiaotong University and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, all in computer science. He currently is a professor in the department.

Previously Shi was with the University of North Texas and PDF Solutions.

Shi's main research interests are in electronic design automation, including layout synthesis, parasitic extraction, testing, process variation and defect/fault tolerance. He also is interested in combinatorial optimization and computational complexity.

His research has been funded by the National Science Foundation, Semiconductor Research Corporation, Texas ARP-ATP, Texas Instruments and IBM.

Shi is a senior member of IEEE and received a number of awards, including the Research Intiation Award from the National Science Foundation, the Best Paper Award from the Design Automation Conference and the Faculty Research Award from IBM.
