Peng Li joined the department as an assistant professor in August 2004. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Xi'an Jiaotong University, in 1994 and 1997, respectively. In 2003, he received his Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Li's research interests lie in VLSI design and CAD with emphasis on IC interconnect modeling, statistical circuit analysis and optimization, analog & mixed-signal CAD and test, modeling and optimization of clock networks, analysis of power grids and IC thermal effects. His research is supported by the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) and Center for Circuit and System Solutions (C2S2) under the Focus Research Center Program (FRCP).
In 2003 he received a Best Paper Award from the 40th ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference (DAC). He also received inventor recognition awards from the Semiconductor Research Corporation (SRC) in 2001 and 2004 and from the Microelectronics Advanced Research Corporation (MARCO) in 2006.
Li has served on the technical program committees of ICCAD, ISQED, ISCAS, TAU as well as the Selection Committee for the 2006 ACM Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award in Electronic Design Automation.
