THEME AND SCOPE

With the success in the living memory of previous CS&I attendees, inspired by the new millennium featuring High-Tech exploration and scientific-sophistication popularization, the Fifth International Conference on Computer Science and Informatics (CS&I'2000), a constituent of the Fifth Joint Conference on Information Sciences (JCIS'2000), will be a great event! With great pleasure, we proudly announce that CS&I'2000 will provide an international forum for scientists, researchers, engineers and developers in computer and information sciences to exchange ideas and approaches, to present research findings and state-of-art solutions, to share experiences on potentials and limits, and to open new avenues of research and developments.

Technical papers reporting original research results in all areas of computer science, engineering, and applications, unpublished previously and not under consideration for publication elsewhere currently, are invited for presentation and publication on CS&I'2000.     PAPER SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

    Authors are invited to submit an extended summary of original and recent unpublished research results to Professor Mi Lu according to the following guidelines. The extended summary should not exceed five(5) pages including figures and tables, and they must be submitted before September 17, 1999.

    If you have any question, please contact Professor Mi Lu by e-mail, fax or phone.

    Submitted papers will be reviewed by Program Committee and external renowned referees based on originality, significance, technical soundness, and clarity of exposition. Notification of paper acceptance/rejection will be sent on November 1, 1999. All the accepted papers will be published in the JCIS'2000 proceedings for which a camera-ready version with text in 10-point font, double-column single-space style should be prepared by the author(s).

    Authors of accepted summaries will also be invited to submit their full length papers for possible publications in one of the three INFORMATION SCIENCES JOURNALS, an international professional publication by Elsevier Co. A full paper should not exceed 20 pages including figures and tables. Four(4) copies should be submitted to Professor Mi Lu at the Conference. The final version of the full paper should be prepared according to the "Information for Authors" appearing at the back cover of INFORMATION SCIENCES.


    IMPORTANT DATES

    September 17, 1999: Paper submission deadline.
    November 1, 1999: Notification of acceptance.
    December 1, 1999: Camera-ready papers due.
    December 1, 1999: Deadline for early registration with discount.
    February 27, 2000: Opening of JCIS'2000.
